Langlee ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our Chrome extension.

1. Information We Collect

Langlee collects and stores the following data:

1.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

• Vocabulary data: Words, phrases, and expressions you save for learning
• Learning statistics: Your daily XP, study time, and word count
• Video bookmarks: YouTube videos you mark as favorites
• Session data: Authentication tokens to keep you logged in

1.2 Data Synced to Cloud (Optional)

When you create an account and sign in with Google, we sync the following data to our secure database (Supabase):

• Your saved vocabulary (words, translations, timestamps)
• Learning expressions and quotes
• Favorite videos list

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• Provide core functionality: Display translations, save vocabulary, track learning progress
• Sync across devices: Access your vocabulary library from any device where you're logged in
• Improve the service: Understand usage patterns to enhance features

3. Authentication

We use Google OAuth 2.0 for secure authentication. When you sign in:

• We only access your email address to identify your account
• We do NOT access your Google Drive, Gmail, or other Google services
• Your Google password is NEVER shared with us
• Authentication is handled according to Google's Privacy Policy

4. Third-Party Services

Langlee uses the following third-party services:

• MyMemory Translation API: Provides word translations and definitions
• Supabase: Securely stores your vocabulary data. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
• Google OAuth: Handles user authentication securely

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do NOT:

• ❌ Sell your personal data to third parties
• ❌ Share your vocabulary data with advertisers
• ❌ Track your browsing activity outside of language learning
• ❌ Use your data for advertising purposes

We may disclose your information only if:

• Required by law or legal process
• Necessary to protect our rights or safety
• With your explicit consent

6. Data Security

We take data security seriously:

• Row-Level Security (RLS): Your vocabulary data can only be accessed by you
• Encrypted connections: All data transfers use HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Secure authentication: OAuth 2.0 tokens with automatic expiration
• No password storage: We never store your Google password

7. Data Retention

• Active accounts: Your data is retained as long as your account is active
• Inactive accounts: Data may be deleted after 12 months of inactivity
• Deleted accounts: Data is permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View all data we have about you
• Export: Download your vocabulary data in JSON format
• Delete: Remove your account and all associated data
• Opt-out: Use the extension without creating an account (local storage only)

9. Data Deletion

To delete your data:

1. Uninstall the extension: Removes all local data from your device
2. Delete cloud data: Open Library → Settings → Delete Account
3. Contact us: Email us to request manual data deletion

10. Children's Privacy

Langlee is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of Langlee after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

12. International Users

Langlee is hosted on Supabase servers. By using our service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
